Application Method
Local anaesthesia is applied to the area to be veneered and no pain is felt during the procedure. Teeth are reduced by cutting a small amount and their measurements are taken. The veneers are specially produced in the laboratory environment and then prepared with special medical adhesive and placed on the tooth.Since the procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, the patient does not feel any discomfort. After the numbness passes, there may be a slight tingling in the gum, but this is short-lived.
With regular dental check-ups and good oral care, zirconium crowns can be used for many years.
Allergy and Sensitisation
Zirconium crowns are generally made of biocompatible materials that minimise the risk of allergies. Zirconium is a particularly recommended option for patients with metal allergies and has been developed to prevent allergic reactions to metal-supported porcelain crowns. Because zirconium dental crowns do not contain metal and do not contain elements that can cause allergic reactions.
However, although rare, some people may experience sensitivity to zirconium material. This may be manifested by symptoms such as mild skin irritation, redness or swelling of the gums. Such conditions are usually temporary and in most cases are not caused by zirconium crowns; it may be a discomfort triggered by another dental material or an oral condition. In such cases, your dentist can guide the treatment process by monitoring your gum health and identifying possible causes.
Thanks to the high biocompatibility provided by zirconium crowns, the risk of allergies is kept to a minimum and these crowns offer a safe solution in terms of dental aesthetics and health.
